Jeans are a challenge to make. The layout & cutting wasn't easy. The test samples were more advanced then the last project, with flat fell and hong kong seams. Sewing the fly front zipper is also an advanced technique. All of this was accomplished by the Apparel I students this semester. To say I am impressed with this group is an understatement. I had students who had never sewn anything complete two pairs of jeans that were made very well. I had other students who challenged themselves and created a new look to their jean by altering the patterns. Some students added challenging fabrics or surface techniques such as waxing the denim to create a water resistant barrier and give the jeans a glossy look. There are so many different styles of jeans below. Enjoy looking at the hard work and creative talents of these future designers!
