Spring 2010 | Project 6 - Jeans

The final project in Apparel 1 is to make a pair of jeans. The students traced the jean blocks, added seam allowance, worked on an efficient layout, cut all the pieces and then constructed the jeans. This involved a fly front which is a challenging zipper application. Pockets were either left classic and clean, embroidered, or had other details applied. Top stitching thread was used as both functional and decorative and some students really pushed this as a design detail. Others worked with bleaching or added trims to make their jeans unique. We hope you enjoy looking at the hard work that went into each pair of these jeans. This semester was full of amazing students and I look forward to working with them again in the future.
