The T shirt is the first project for Apparel I students. Most students haven't sewn anything before so this seemingly easy garment can be quite a challenge. The first step is to research and sketch a T Shirt idea. Then we make our patterns using blocks and use proper pattern labeling. Next, we lay out the fabrics, pin the patterns, and cut each piece precisely. Sample squares of fabric are used as our practice before we sew the final T shirt. The T Shirts are each unique and really show off the style of the students. This is one of the most creative group of students I have seen in a long time, and I'm sure you will agree when you look at the T Shirt designs below.
